New Territories which should be under the control and supervi- sion of the London Missionary Society, and that the Rhenigh Mission be under the control and supervision of the London Missionary Society.

7.

Mesers. Lowe, Bingham and Matthews are at present collecting rents and managing certain financial business apper- taining to the Basel Mission. For this work they have charged a fair amount, and we would recommend that they no longer exeer- cise any authority over the property of this mission. The Registrar of the Supreme Court is the liquidator of the Rhenish Mission, it does not seem necessary that he should so function any longer.

8.

We would recommend that the whole financial affairs | for the present and until further arrangements can be made, be placed under trustees, of which the majority should belong to the missionary societies. We would suggest representatives of the Church Missionary Society and the London Missionary Society and the Treasurer, a Secretary will have to be appointed and it is probable that for a charitable purpose, a gentleman could be found who would be willing to do so in an honorary capacity. This body should have management over all the properties of the Basel, Berlin, Fhenish and Hilde scheim Missions, collect rents, arrange financial details, and pay necessary expenditure approved by the Board of Trustees.

During the management of such Board of Trustees, experience would be gained for the ultimate disposal of the properties for the various missions. The missions should be continued as also their charities, the income derived from the properties should be used for the carrying on and extension of their missions and for other objects of missions, educational and charitable institutions.

10.

We would point out that now that peace has been declared, there is considerable chance of the late German Missioneries getting into communication with the members of the Chinese congregations and it is therefore essential that they

should
